Secondary School Residential
Rooted in the principles of Adventurous Learning, our approach centres on authentic, challenging, and meaningful engagement with the outdoors.
From forest camps to wild journeys, we create experiences pupils can genuinely get their teeth into — because real learning happens where adventure, uncertainty, and purpose meet.
Secondary School Residential: Wilderness Trip
For pupils ready to go beyond the basics, our 1–5 day Woodland Residential offers a true outdoor experience filled with challenge, independence, and real-world learning. With activities that build confidence and practical skills, this is where pupils take the lead — learning to thrive in the wild, work as a team, and push their boundaries in a supportive, nature-rich environment.
Secondary School Residential: Adventure Journey
This is not your average school trip. Wilderness Journey is a bold, multi-day expedition designed for secondary school pupils ready to step out of their comfort zone. Through wild landscapes and off-grid living, pupils navigate remote terrain, set up their own camps, cook outdoors, and take on real challenges — not just exploring the land, but discovering what they’re truly capable of. It’s outdoor learning in its rawest form: unfiltered, unforgettable, and rooted in independence, teamwork, and self-discovery. They return more confident, more connected, and ready for what’s next.
Secondary School Residential: Escape Challenge
Escape Challenge is a 3-day immersive survival experience built for secondary-age pupils who are ready to lead, adapt, and grow. Blending adventure with real-life challenge, this off-grid expedition invites students to step into the role of international aid workers navigating a crisis — where independence, teamwork, and critical thinking are not just encouraged, but required.
Secondary School Residential: Wild Island
Wild Island is a 6+ day off-grid adventure on a remote Scottish island, designed for secondary pupils ready to push their limits. Through wilderness expeditions, real-world challenges, and hands-on learning, students build leadership, resilience, and independence in one of the UK’s wildest classroom settings.
Secondary School Residential: Activities Week
Our day and overnight activity weeks are designed to build confidence, independence, and strong peer connections through fun, challenge, and adventure. These programmes support leadership, resilience, and teamwork in a dynamic outdoor setting — offering meaningful enrichment beyond the classroom. Whether it’s a one-day experience or a multi-night camp, pupils return more capable, connected, and ready to thrive.
Secondary School Residential: Wilderness Trip
Our 1–5 Day Woodland Residential is designed for secondary pupils who are ready for a deeper, more meaningful outdoor learning experience. This programme prioritises independence, responsibility, and challenge — giving older pupils the opportunity to step outside the classroom and into a real-world environment where they can test themselves, reflect, and grow.
Each day is shaped around adventurous learning, encouraging decision-making, teamwork, and self-reliance. Pupils are supported in taking ownership of their journey, whether through individual tasks or collaborative challenges that build leadership, resilience, and confidence.
Evenings offer structured downtime, with space for reflection, connection, and relaxation around the campfire. The programme can be tailored to meet your school’s aims, with options to focus more deeply on themes such as personal development, outdoor leadership, or environmental connection.
Delivered by experienced outdoor educators and supported by comfortable accommodation and a dedicated camp team, this residential provides a safe, empowering, and inspiring environment for older pupils to grow in character, capability, and confidence.

Secondary School Residential: Adventure Journey
The Adventure Journey is a multi-day, off-grid expedition designed for secondary pupils who are ready to stretch themselves, step up, and lead. This programme removes the distractions of everyday life and places pupils in an environment where challenge and learning go hand in hand.
Pupils begin their journey at a remote drop-off point, carrying their own kit and navigating to camp — promoting responsibility, group cohesion, and purposeful independence from the outset. Depending on age and confidence, groups may travel with a leader or be supervised at a distance, allowing them to take real ownership of their experience.
Throughout the journey, pupils are given space to problem-solve, lead, support one another, and reflect. They prepare their own meals, set up shelters, and manage their own routines — learning to adapt, communicate, and grow through real, practical experience.
Evenings are intentionally calm and reflective, with time around the fire, shared conversation, and space to process the day. The journey builds steadily toward a true sense of achievement, with many pupils surprised at how far they’ve come — both physically and personally.
Led by experienced outdoor educators, Adventure Journey is more than a school trip — it is a rite of passage for young people on the path to greater self-awareness, resilience, and connection with the world around them.

Secondary School Residential: Escape Challenge
A high-impact learning experience in the wild.
Challenge Escape is a uniquely powerful residential programme that takes pupils far beyond the boundaries of the classroom and into an immersive, scenario-based survival challenge. Built around an unfolding international crisis narrative, this adventure empowers pupils to develop and apply leadership, communication, independence, and decision-making skills in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
From the moment they arrive, pupils step into a fictional humanitarian-aid scenario. After establishing base camp in comfortable safari-style tents and training in essential survival skills — from navigation and triage to emergency response and shelter-building — they are “deployed” into the wilderness, where the real challenge begins.
Working in small, instructor-supported teams, pupils must respond to evolving situations, overcome obstacles, and make strategic decisions under pressure. With instructors supervising from a distance, pupils take real ownership of their journey — building responsibility, resilience, and teamwork while maintaining full safety at all times.
As the narrative unfolds, pupils complete a series of scenario-driven practical tasks such as constructing shelters, planning escape routes, managing resources, and making critical decisions under pressure. They sleep under the stars, cook their own meals, and lead themselves to a final dramatic border crossing — concluding their mission with a well-earned celebration lunch.
The experience doesn’t end there. Schools can choose to return to the main camp for an extended stay, giving pupils the opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and take part in additional activities that consolidate learning in a more relaxed setting.
Challenge Escape gives pupils the chance to explore wild landscapes, develop real-world skills, and discover how capable they truly are — through meaningful teamwork, independence, and unforgettable adventure.

Secondary School Residential: Wild Island
Wild Island is a 5+ day remote residential designed for secondary pupils who are ready for real adventure, meaningful learning, and deep personal challenge. Set on a rugged Scottish island, this programme gives pupils the chance to disconnect from the familiar and step into an environment where teamwork, responsibility, and independence are not just encouraged — they’re essential.
From the moment pupils step off the boat, they become part of a purposeful journey. Throughout the week, they take on roles, responsibilities, and real-world tasks — from navigating wild landscapes and preparing meals from scratch to contributing to environmental projects and caring for the land and community around them.
Midway through the trip, pupils are dropped at a remote location and must work together to hike or paddle their way back to base — carrying their own kit, setting up camp, and cooking under the stars. This self-supported expedition forms the heart of the experience, building leadership, resilience, and confident decision-making under pressure.
The final days are spent at the island bunkhouse, where reflection, connection, and celebration round off the journey. Schools can also tailor the programme to focus on specific outcomes such as leadership development, sustainability, or wellbeing.
Wild Island invites pupils to challenge themselves physically, emotionally, and mentally — developing confidence, communication, and self-belief through outdoor learning that is raw, relevant, and truly unforgettable.

Secondary School Residential: Activities Week
Our day and overnight activity programmes offer far more than just fun — they provide lasting value through challenge, connection, and experiential learning. These experiences are ideal for schools looking to enrich their curriculum with meaningful, real-world opportunities that promote personal growth, peer bonding, and character development.
Structured around the principles of adventurous learning, each programme is tailored to help pupils develop independence, resilience, confidence, and leadership — all within a safe, supportive outdoor environment.
Through a blend of active challenges, creative tasks, and reflective moments, pupils build strong peer relationships through teamwork and shared accomplishment. They practise communication, responsibility, and problem-solving, explore personal strengths through hands-on experience, take on leadership roles, and support one another’s learning journeys. The experience also strengthens school identity and cohesion in a non-classroom setting.
Our overnight option adds an even deeper layer of development. Pupils sleep under canvas in beautiful bell tents, gather around the campfire for stories and connection, and experience the shared adventure of a night outdoors. Staff enjoy glamping-style accommodation with space to relax or join activities as they wish.
We also offer enriching add-ons such as citizen science projects and community-based initiatives, giving pupils the chance to connect with their environment and contribute to something bigger than themselves — encouraging curiosity, responsibility, and a broader sense of purpose.
Whether you are planning a one-day experience, an overnight introduction to residential life, or a fully immersive week, our programmes are perfect for orientation weeks, end-of-term celebrations, and mid-year enrichment. We also provide bespoke options tailored to your school’s values, themes, or developmental goals.
These activity weeks align seamlessly with the ethos of holistic, character-focused education — offering a powerful opportunity for pupils to build relationships, stretch themselves, and return to school more confident, capable, and connected.
